And now a few words from your host...

Hi. I’m Brenton. I’m a Certified Professional Coach and a personal & professional development educator. I'm on a mission to help people experience and express more joy in their lives. And along the way, I’m seeking to brew the perfect cup of espresso, eat as much great salsa as humanly possible, and collect more cool hats!

On this site, I share my thoughts on what it takes to live a life that is intentional, engaging, and joyful — what I like to call “The Alegre Life.” ("alegre" is Spanish for "happy, joyful, or cheerful")

Living "The Alegre Life" is all about challenging the status quo in your life so that you can break through the barriers that are holding you back from living the life you deserve (and that the rest of us deserve from you).

I firmly believe that everyone has a special God-given gift that they want to share with the world. And that the world is waiting to receive that gift. Most people, unfortunately, never share their gift. And when that happens we all miss out. Not you. Not any more!

A little about me (because the long version is, well, very long):

I’ve been helping people improve their lives for about 30 years in various social service, ministerial, and educational capacities. I am currently in a doctoral program, have a couple other advanced degrees, numerous professional certificates, and am constantly reading, studying, and taking more courses so that I can better assist my clients. Aside from my coffee, salsa, and hat addiction, I like to play guitar, create abstract paintings, run, and hang out with family and friends listening to live music.

I have a casual home office in Charlotte, NC (or make use of various local coffee shops if I get bored at home). I write, teach, and coach individuals, small businesses, and social service organizations in the area of holistic well-being.

I seek to help people answer questions like these:

  • How can you experience and express joy in your everyday life?

  • What does it take to reach your full potential?

  • How can you make lasting life changes?

  • How can your professional work be a full expression of who you are?

I work with ordinary folks who are just trying to figure this life thing out in the best way they can.

Yes, this life thing can be a bit difficult at times. I hope that I can challenge, encourage, and inspire you to be, do, have, and give your very best. And along the way, have some fun, too! 😁
